Systemic Racism and Discrimination Report Card

Due to the lack of evaluations/statistics on Systemic Racism and discrimination from the immigrants' point of view, Canadaimmigrants is going to make an open report on these issues. Therefore, if you have experienced one of the following incidents, we invite you to make it public on this site, please contact us. We certainly appreciate your insightful input.

Types of incidents to report

An immigration-serving association:

1. Told you to downgrade your credentials
2. Made you wait for too long to receive any job related services, so their services were useless.
3. Asked you to volunteer for their association in a position below your skills level
4. Didn't understand your credentials
5. (Their) job counsellors had poor communication and professional skills
6. Other (Please specify briefly)

A company:

1. Never responded to your job application and their job opportunity was still advertised
2. Told you that they preferred someone with Canadian credentials
3. Told you that you didn't have Canadian experience
4. Never promoted you to a higher position, but promoted other person with less education and less seniority instead
5. Paid you less even when you had the same responsibilities and performance as other workers in similar positions
6. After you graduated from a Canadian school -with higher grades than your classmates, a company hired one of your Canadian-born ex-classmates instead

A school:

1. Made you go through the entire application process, and suddenly put another requirement that wasn't at the beginning of that process
2. Made subtle favoritism to some Canadian-born students, which influenced in your/their grades
