Aging Population and Immigration in Canada |
|
|
Canada's aging index shows
that In 2000, for each group of 100 children from 0 to 14 years old there
were 65.8 elders (65 years old and over). In 2051, the scenario changes and
for each 100 children (aged 0 to 14) there will be 185.3 elders or seniors
mainly due to a combination of a longer life expectancy and lower fertility rates.
